WOMAD

WOMAD stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance and was set up in 1982 by Genesis' lead singer Peter Gabriel. The event brings together many forms of the arts from different countries and cultures from over the globe. WOMAD has around 20 festivals worldwide and it allows audiences to gain an insight into other cultures through the enjoyment of music.

Podpads will be back in 2010 when the festival returns to Charlton Park where the event was relocated in 2007. Revellers will experience around 70 acts from around the world on both indoor and outdoor stages. The event has a family-safe atmosphere with a range of music including jazz, funk, reggae, ambient and hip hop.

There is also a full programme of adult and children's workshops.
